SA+P Staff Initiatives

The Dean’s Office Staff Initiatives are intended to enrich, inform, and support your experience as staff members of SA+P.

For Support and Administrative Staff

SA+P Staff Mentoring Program

The Staff Mentoring Program is open to all staff who are interested in receiving mentorship from a more experienced colleague. Mentees will work with a mentor who is based in a different unit within SA+P. Mentoring may include career guidance, advice on navigating MIT, and insights into managing interpersonal conflict.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Kiley Clapper at kclapper@mit.edu.

SA+P Career Corridors Series

Offered on occasion during the year
A lunch-time series that offers information on some of the big picture aspects of SA+P and the Institute, and insights about how to build a satisfying career at MIT.

For All Staff

Staff Special Interest Groups (SSIGs)

Staff are invited to form SSIGs based on a common activity, purpose, background, or interest. This is an opportunity to share a professional or personal interest with colleagues across the School. The School will provide funds to meet once per month over lunch or before/after work.  Regardless of the topic, groups will be open and advertised to all staff in SA+P.  If you’d like to start an SSIG, fill out the proposal form and Kiley Clapper will follow up with you.

Current SSIGs

SA+P Moms – Are you a mom that is looking for a network in SA+P? Do you wish there was a group that offered community, discussion, and, most importantly, food? Then this group is for you! SA+P Moms gathers monthly for lunch and discussion on topics important to working moms. We aim to create a supportive community of moms that can uplift one another and be a resource for questions and reflection about the joys and difficulties that parenthood involves. Email Marissa Marcoux (marissaw@media.mit.edu) to be added to the contact list.

Craft Group – SA+P is partnering with SoE to offer twice-monthly craft meet-ups! Bring your project(s), make some progress and meet new people! The group meets every-other-week on Fridays for a late lunch/snacks from 1-2 pm. Email Kiley Clapper (kclapper@mit.edu) to be added to the email list.
